Toni Betaudier I am originally from Trinidad. I received my BA from Hunter College of the City University of New York in Special Honors and Psychology. My research interests include: early intervention; early childhood education; gifted education and social/emotional development; and multicultural issues and educational programs.
Caitlin Cells I graduated in 2007 from Villanova University with a BA in Psychology I am originally from Long Valley, NJ. My research interests are still developing, but include personality, giftedness, and early education. In my spare time I love to travel and dance.
Erica Culler I began the school psychology program at Penn State after receiving my B. A. in psychology from Shippensburg University. My research interests include early intervention, progress monitoring, and instructional methods.

Miranda Freberg I received my B.A. in Psychology from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. My current research interests are second language acquisition, and assessment and intervention with English Language Learners in the schools. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Bryan, and my yellow lab, Charley. I love to play sports, travel, read, and go to the beach.
Catherine Goffreda I completed my B.A. in psychology from West Virginia, where I assisted with research on Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and Native American familial issues. My research interests include early childhood health & wellness, effects of physical activity on academic outcomes, and early literacy progress monitoring, particularly related to the Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS). I enjoy running, live music & theater, traveling, and enjoying Happy Valley with my favorite people!
Ashley Gruszecki I completed my undergrad at Dickinson College in 2007, where I received a B.A. in Psychology. My other research interests include: early childhood, personality, giftedness, resiliency, and parental/family influences. I also enjoy theater, swimming/water sports, photography, serving in the community and frequenting Penn State's Creamery.
Kathryn Hahn I received a B.S. in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. Currently I am pursuing a special proficiency in early childhood, although my research interests also include learning behaviors, ADHD, and gifted education. I enjoy spending my time with my husband Eric and my dog Autumn. My favorite thing to do for fun at Penn State is attend the football games. Go State!
Cristin Hall I completed my undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders at Penn State. I completed my master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Since then I have been working in the mental health field including in adult corrections and child clinical settings. I am interested in early intervention for children with emotional disorders and whether or not screening measures can be used to guide treatment for children to help with school success later on. For fun I like to exercise, read (both fiction and non-fiction), watch movies, and listen to live music.
Laura Hankins I am originally from Frankfort, Illinois. My research interests include learning behaviors, learning disabilities, ADHD, and multi-cultural education. My other interests include working out, dancing, and spending time with friends.
Anne McGinnis I graduated from the University of Hartford with degrees in Psychology and Music Education. My research interests include teacher judgments of student achievement, challenging behaviors in students, and bullying, and my special proficiency is in prevention. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading, playing with my dog, Finlay, and spending time with family and friends.
Erin Meyer I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Juniata College. I am currently working on my Master's thesis in which I am analyzing the factor structure of a behavior rating scale in Peruvian children. For my dissertation research, I plan to investigate the effects of parent involvement on academic performance. Specifically, I would like to explore the effects of parental involvement on the educational experience of English language learners. In my spare time, I like to read, go running, watch movies, and spend time with my family and friends. I also like to attend sporting events, especially football games...GO PSU!!
Ashley Miller I earned a B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from Messiah College in 2004. My current research interests relate to identity and culture For fun, I enjoy working out, going to Penn State football games, hiking, watching movies, eating out, photography, and traveling.
Faith Miller Research interests include: program evaluation, educational and behavioral interventions, and resilience in school-age children.
Shermayne Moore I am a 2005 alumna of Howard University. enjoy reading, writing poetry, shopping, and cooking. Before coming to Penn State, I was a Postbaccalaureate Fellow at the National Institutes of Health where I conducted adolescent research. My research interests include parenting styles and academic achievement, and the psychometrics of assessment instruments used in diverse populations.
Kate Norwalk I am currently a first year student at Penn State. I received my BA in Psychology from Buffalo State College, NY (Go Bills!!). My research interests include ADHD in college students, measurement issues in early childhood behavioral assessments, andissues in Pediatric Psychology. In my spare time I like to exercise, watch football and reality TV, and spend time with friends.
Erin Reid I finished my undergraduate studies in Psychology at Mansfield University. My research interests include studying the development of numeracy skills in preschool-aged children, social-emotional development, and the impact of poverty on school readiness. I was awarded a 2007-09 Head Start Graduate Student Research Grant which will allow me to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of an early numeracy skill development program for children enrolled in Head Start.
Melissa Reid I completed my B.S. in Psychology in 2003. My area of specialization is counseling and my current research interests include the assessment of early literacy skills in preschoolers and early elementary students, as well as the effect of affective disorders on academic achievement. Currently, I am a Graduate Assistant for Penn State Outreach, Market Research. My favorite thing to do in State College is attend Penn State football games. Let's Go PSU!!
Lia Sandilos
Brian Schneider I graduated from Muhlenberg College in 2006 with a B.A. in Psychology. My research interests include the effects of socioeconomic and socio-cultural factors in school settings. I am interested in investigating a broad range of issues dealing with the education and development of students who are English Language Learners.
Rebecca Tagg
Leah Van Deth I graduated from the University of California at Irvine with an undergraduate degree in psychology. During my graduate studies at Penn State, I would like to investigate the different coping mechanisms students use in the classroom environment. I am also keenly interested in multicultural education and English Language Learners, especially within the Hispanic population. I am active in the School Psychology Student Group as a member of the Professional and Communications committee and will be assisting in writing a charter for our group.
