  CEDAR Clinic Services

The CEDAR School Psychology Clinic provides services to children, adolescents, and young adults. Clinicians work together to get an in-depth picture of each client's strengths and weaknesses. Every client is given an individually selected group of tests which could include intelligence, academic achievement, personality, interest, visual-motor, adaptive behavior, and social-emotional performance. Also, clients may be observed in a variety of situations.

The Clinic day begins at 8:15 a.m (on Tuesdays) or 9:00 a.m. (on Saturdays). Before arrival, background information forms that have been returned are reviewed by Clinic staff and supervisors. Based on the information supplied (such as reports of any previous evaluations, recent school grade reports, standardized test results, and examples of schoolwork, if applicable) and the questions asked, the program for the day is designed.

For most clients, a full-day program is necessary; for others, only a half-day is needed. The assessment process typically consists of a series of psychological and educational evaluation procedures. Clients or their parents are also interviewed by a clinician regarding early development, health, educational history, and current social behavior.

The day includes a break for lunch. If more time is needed, another appointment is scheduled.
