Dependent Groups Design
A dependent groups design is produced when a subject's score on the dependent variables are related across the independent variable. Examples are the dependent t test where the same subject is measured before and after a treatment, or where two subjects are matched on one variable, and then one of the matched pairs is placed in one treatment, and the other pair in the second treatment. Another example is the repeated measures design, where subjects are measured repeatedly under more than two different treatment conditions.
